Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal is the Philippine National Hero. He was born on June 19, 1861 in Calamba, Laguna and died on December 30, 1896 at Bagumbayan.He was a prolific poet, essayist, diarist, correspondent, and novelist. He wrote the two most famous novels Noli me Tangere and El filibusterismo.
He was the founder of La Liga Filipina which gave birth to the Katipunan, the first anti-Spanish society led by Andres Bonifacio. Katipunan is also known as KKK or Kataas-taasan, Kagalang-galangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan.
